Sustainable Solutions for Energy Efficiency

The Multilateral Fund for the implementation of the Montreal Protocol and UNDP is promoting the concept of District Cooling as a mean to reduce the use of high GWP refrigerants as well as promoting the use of more energy efficient systems in the AC sector. From 2016, DEVCCO has engagement to develop a business model for district cooling and explore the potential of district cooling in Trinidad & Tobago. Phase 2 under the GEF (Global Environmental Facility program) to be started 2019

DEVCCO has performed stakeholder analysis, stakeholder workshops and identified a number of potential pilot projects. Of these pilots identified, two of them have been selected to be developed further to the level of feasibility study/business case study. DEVCCO is also investigating baseline investments, current fiscal instruments and economic incentives for fostering Energy Efficiency, including District Cooling and Air Conditioning in Trinidad & Tobago
